For students who are foster youth or system impacted youth- check out these great opportunities from BetterYouth, an organization in LA where their mission is to build creative confidence, bridge resource gaps, and prepare foster and system-impacted youth for sustained success in the creative economy. They provide omnidirectional mentoring, media arts training, professional skills development, and social support services supporting a holistic approach

California is launching SUN Bucks, a new program to help families buy groceries during the summer months!
California is launching SUN Bucks, a new program to help families buy groceries during the summer months.
đź’µ What You Get:
- $40/month per child
- For June, July, and August
- That’s a total of $120 per child to help with food costs!
✅ Who’s Eligible?
- Receive CalFresh, CalWORKs, or Medi-Cal
- Are foster youth
- Are experiencing homelessness or migrant
- Attend a school that offers free or reduced-price meals and are individually approved
To access this, please call the SUN Bucks helpline at (877) 328-9677. The helpline provides automated support 24 hours a day, seven days per week. Live agents are available Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. To check your benefit balance and claim status, visit the California EBT cardholder website.

During this session, we’ll discuss key milestones your student should be doing now, planning for college and college applications, alternative post secondary pathways and workforce preparation. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Enroll in Virtual UCLA High School Summer Institutes!
| Hello from the UCLA Game Lab! We invite you to enroll in UCLA Design Media Arts department’s three distinct Summer Institutes geared specifically for high school students: the UCLA Game Lab Summer Institute, UCLA Social Software Summer Institute, and UCLA Design Media Arts Summer Institute.
Each two-week program gives students the opportunity to expand their creative skills while earning 4 units of college credit! Delve into exciting interactive and multimedia projects in fast paced virtual classrooms taught by professionally trained and well-experienced instructors using the most current software and technology. Students create a portfolio-ready body of work that stand out in their college applications in related fields. There are still openings available for each program, but they’re filling up rapidly! | The UCLA Game Lab Summer Institute introduces students to game-making as an artistic practice, teaching them techniques and tools to develop analog and digital games that reflect their own creative vision. No previous game-making skills are required. Students in our programs develop an aesthetic and technical foundation in various aspects of game design, and begin learning how to express their own personal ideas through game-making. Classes focus on learning the fundamentals of game design, creating compelling game characters, building game worlds, programming/coding games. | The AI, Code, & Art Summer Institute is a two-week commuter program at UCLA designed for high school students eager to explore the creative possibilities and social impacts of making art with software.
