Dear Connect High School Families,
As we prepare to conclude the 2024-2025 school year, we want to share an important update regarding
our plans for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. We deeply value the input from our entire school
community. Overwhelmingly, we have heard a shared interest in creating more structured and enhanced
learning time on campus, and growing a stronger school community.
Based on this valuable feedback, our goal became clear: to develop an improved daily schedule
designed specifically to increase direct, face-to-face instructional time between students and
teachers, and to implement stronger, targeted support systems for student success. In order to
effectively implement this enhanced schedule and achieve these important goals, we will be
adjusting our daily start time. Therefore, beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, the official
school start time will be 8:30 am.
We acknowledge and understand a change in schedule could possibly impact families to adjust for
drop off, pickup, and other logistical outliers. However, an earlier start time does offer
benefits, such as, aligning with other school drop off times, carpool arrangements, additional time
of intentional SEL support, and the implementation of What I Need or W. I. N.
W.I.N is a 45-minute period during the day that targets specific needs of each student.
W.I.N. period could vary from academic support needs to enrichment designed for fostering
creativity, allowing additional time to work on projects, or other needs. The implementation of
W.I.N. would also align closer to the other Da Vinci High School’s offerings. We are confident that
this adjustment is a necessary step to create a schedule that better serves the academic and
supportive needs highlighted by our community.
Other key changes to the schedule include:
• Morning Meetings: The first 15 minutes of period one would be dedicated to morning meetings
campus wide. Morning meetings provide community building within our classrooms and school.
• Lunch: Since the school day is starting earlier, lunch will be earlier
• Advisory: Advisory will be after lunch and is being reimagined Da Vinci wide to focus solely on
socio-emotional learning
• Period 3: Third period will be at the end of the day.
School schedule beginning 2025-2026:
8:30-8:45 Morning Meeting (Period 1)
8:45-10:15 Period 1
10:20-11:50 Period 2
11:50-12:20 LUNCH
12:25-12:55 Advisory
1:00-1:45 W.I.N.
1:50-3:20 Period 3
The following will not be impacted:
• Asynchronous Support on campus days option for students
• Cohort days remaining MTh or TF
• Block schedule
• Project Based Learning
• Office hours
• Pickup for clubs, performing arts, and sports
We welcome your thoughts and questions—please feel free to share them by
completing this form. There’s also a section where you can offer your ideas on a school-wide
student cell phone policy.
Thank you for your continued partnership!
Warmly,
Tami and Robert
