Music class opportunity: Studio Orchestra
Mr. Toby Harwell is hosting a UC/CSU VPA Area “F” Instrumental Music seminar to our students. He is holding Studio Orchestra class meetings on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, from 2:50-4pm during this school year. This is a year-long commitment, and open to any students with at least 1 year of prior experience with wind or string (violin, viola, cello, bass) instruments. He is aware of the asynchronous nature of our programming and will make every effort to accommodate all interested students…even if they can only participate in one of our two weekly meetings. Audition for Pedro Play- TONIGHT 5:30-8:30pm
A new play with music, created with and about the San Pedro Community
-Open to all ages
-No experience necessary
-Nothing to prepare
Some audition dates have passed, but there are still auditions being held on 8/9 from 5:30-8:30pm at Rancho San Pedro Social Hall and 8/10 from 5:30-8:30pm at Angels Gate Cultural Center.

When Jessica is sent to San Pedro on a journalistic assignment, she finds much more than she bargained for. Traveling through Pedro’s rich and colorful past, present and future, Jessica finds a community in the midst of radical change. A romantic comedy with music, PEDRO PLAY explores the meaning of home and features members of the San Pedro community on stage in collaboration with Cornerstone Theater Company.
Cornerstone Theater Company is holding auditions for PEDRO PLAY.

No theater experience is necessary and there’s nothing to prepare.
If you’d like to be a part of making this San Pedro community play, but don’t want to be onstage, stop by auditions and introduce yourself. We’d love to meet you!

El Segundo Police Department Summer Youth Camp
Good Morning Da Vinci Families,
El Segundo Police Department is hosting their 1st annual Summer Youth Camp for teenagers 14-17 years old. Students will have the opportunity to learn more about Drones, SWAT, K9,CSI, Detectives and the Cadet Program. The camp will take place on August 15th-18th from 8:00am-2:00pm at 348 Main Street, El Segundo. If interested, register with Detective Philip Milam at pmilam@elsegundo.org. The California Native Vote Project invites Native youth to a fun IYOA Artivism Day on Sunday, August 6 in the city of LA, filled with workshops, guest performances, and an opportunity for Native youth to connect in person. To register, click here.

Women in Aviation International is non-profit organization dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of women in all aviation and aerospace career fields and interests.
Join the Greater Los Angeles Women in Aviation Chapter, Fly Compton, and Alaska Airlines in celebrating Girls In Aviation Day at Compton Airport on Saturday, September 23 from 10am – 2pm! Families are invited to join the Compton Woodley Airport for a fun-filled day celebrating International Girls in Aviation Day!

As we approach the new school year, we ask new and returning families to complete our annual First Day of School Forms on SchoolMint. These forms are critical to ensure that we have your family’s current information on file.
Completing First Day of School Forms will require you to log in to your existing SchoolMint account, review contact information, sign off on annual parent notifications, and then SUBMIT at the end.
It is critical that we have these documents completed prior to your child starting school. Please take some time to complete and submit all forms on SchoolMint, before Tuesday, August 1st 2023 at 11:59PM.

For Returning Students: Once logged in, click the green “Re-Enroll” button underneath your student’s name on the right-hand side. Complete all five sections and click the green “Submit Forms” button at the bottom of the page.
For New Families: Once logged in you will see 2023 First Day of School Forms under your student’s name. Glick on the green “Start” button to complete all three forms and then click the green “Submit Forms” button at the bottom of the page.
