🗓️ Join us this Thursday, September 14th, on campus to prepare for the club day! Here are the details:
📍 Location: Learning Space 2 🕒 Time: 3:15 PM – 4:00 PM
Club Day is our chance to showcase the literary and artistic talents within our school community.. Here’s what you need to know:
1️⃣ Creative Minds Unite: Bring your imaginative ideas to the table as we brainstorm ways to make our Club Day booth stand out. From interactive displays to captivating visuals, your input matters!
2️⃣ Artistic Flair: If you have any artistic skills or materials, please bring them along! We’ll be working on some eye-catching decorations to bring our booth to life.
And guess what? We’ve got SNACKS on deck! 🍪🥤 Spread the word, tag your fellow literary artists, and let’s make this Club Day a celebration of creativity and expression! 📖🎨

Attention 11th Grade Families!
Connect High School will be hosting the PSAT on Wednesday, October 25th at 8:30am.
There will be a Google Form link emailed out to 11th grade students and their parents/guardians this afternoon – Thursday, September 14th. If you would like to be eligible to take the PSAT, you will have to submit your request on the Google Form no later than Thursday, September 29th.
Before you submit your response, please note that:
- The PSAT test will take place on Wednesday, October 25th – this is an asynchronous day for Connect HS, so you will need to arrange for transportation to the Da Vinci Connect HS campus.
- Students will need to arrive no later than 8:30am. Late arrivals will not be admitted to the test.
Once you are registered for the PSAT, your counselor will reach out to you with more information on specifics for the test date.
California Science Center – Internships for 10th and 11th Grade Students
The California Science Center is extending an opportunity to local high school sophomores and juniors this academic school year. They will be hiring teen interns to be part of their Education Department and engage with guests throughout the museum.
The application for the 2023-2024 school year is currently open! The deadline to apply is September 15th, 2023 at 5PM PST.

LA Carnival Youth on Parade – Last day to apply!
International Eye Los Angeles is pleased to announce its 2023 creative residencies in Caribbean carnival arts and multimedia presentation. The program, ‘LA Carnival Youth On Parade™’, teaches youth, 14-24 years old production and design skills to express their artistry and creativity. Partially funded by a California Arts Council grant, participants will receive stipends between $200 and $500 while developing transferable, project-based skills.
The residencies will take place on two campuses, one in MacArthur Park and one in Leimert Park. Each campus will have two cohorts, a Young Designer Cohort (age 14- 17) focusing on costume design and fabrication; and a Youth Leadership Cohort (age 18-24), focused on leadership and producing. Presented in collaboration with Los Angeles Carnival, participants will be integral collaborators in the LA Carnival and Festival of Arts scheduled for Sunday, June 25th in Leimert Park.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Our community partner, South Bay Families Connected, offers our families a variety of youth wellness resources. For Mental Health Awareness Month, we feature their resource pages covering trending youth wellness topics on the minds of parents and caregivers:
- Supporting healthy social media and screen time management
- Recognizing and supporting mental health challenges
- Understanding and managing stress and anxiety
- Helping youth build healthy relationships and foster empathy and compassion
- Practicing mindful parenting

Are you interested in taking El Camino College courses this Summer? The El Camino schedule of classes for Summer 2023 has officially been released and registration opens in May. You can view the online schedule of classes by visiting www.elcamino.edu/schedule.
