Seniors! HSF scholarship application is open!

 

The 2024 HSF Scholar Program Application is now open and closes on February 15, 2024, 5:00 PM PT.

  • Every year, HSF selects 10,000 outstanding students as HSF Scholars from a broad and talented pool of applicants
  • HSF Scholars have access to a full range of invaluable Scholar Support Services, including career services, mentorship, leadership development, knowledge building, and wellness training
  • Career services include access to select internship and job opportunities with HSF corporate partners
  • HSF Scholars are eligible to apply for all Scholar Conferences including, the STEM Summit, Finance Conference, Media & Entertainment Summit, Entrepreneurship Summit, and Healthcare Summit
  • Exclusive access to the HSF Insider which shares invaluable information and career opportunities
  • Finally, and importantly, HSF awards more than $30 million in Scholarships annually and, depending upon available funds, HSF Scholars may also be eligible to receive a scholarship, which range from $500-$5,000 and are awarded directly to students

Eligibility:

  • Must be of Hispanic heritage
  • U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, or DACA
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students; minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for college and graduate students
  • Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school, in the U.S., for the 2024-2025 academic year
  • Submit the FAFSA or state-based financial aid forms (if applicable)

HSF empowers families with the knowledge and resources to successfully complete a higher education, while providing scholarships and support services to as many exceptional students as possible.

Founded in 1975, HSF has awarded over $730 million in scholarships. HSF Scholars have access to valuable Scholar Support Services and, as funding permits, scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000.

Additional Important Information:

  • It takes an average of 30 minutes for students to complete Phase I of the 2024 HSF Scholar Program Application
  • No essays, recommendations, or document uploads are required in Phase I

HSF Scholar Application Timeline:

  • January – Phase I of the application opened January 1 and closes on February 15, 2024, 5:00 PM PT
  • Late February – Applicants are evaluated and the most competitive are selected as Finalists
  • March 1 – Finalists are announced and asked to submit essays, recommendations, transcripts, FAFSA, and other related documents
  • June – HSF Scholars are announced (includes both funded and Scholars waitlisted for funding)
  • June to November – Final Document Verification (financial aid award letter, enrollment verification, and related documents)
  • December – 10,000 HSF Scholars are confirmed after the verification process is complete

Attention Seniors- scholarship opportunity!

Kinecta is proud to recognize outstanding students in our communities with our Youth Scholarship Program. Each year, their scholarship program helps eight exceptional students attend the college of their dreams by providing them with a $2,000 scholarship to defray a portion of their tuition expenses.

Students are eligible if they are:

  • 24 years of age or younger at time of application
  • A high school senior applying for, or has already been accepted as, a full-time student at an accredited college or university OR a full-time student continuing at an accredited college or university
  • Written essay
  • Two letters of recommendation

Seniors- CSU Channel Islands is still accepting applications!

CSU Channel Islands has extended its Fall 2024 undergraduate application deadline until March 30, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. (except for Nursing; the deadline for transfers applying to the Nursing program has passed).

Submit your Cal State Apply application as soon as possible. We invite your students to explore CSUCI and obtain help if needed. Here are some helpful resources:

Every college/university (2 year community college, trade, and 4 year colleges/universities, alike) will need one; either the FAFSA, or CA Dream Act (this one is in California only). Prometour Costa Rica trip- one last “initial” meeting with Prometour!

¡Hola, Connect High School students and families!

Connect High School is excited to announce our 2025 International Immersion Trip with Prometour! We will be traveling to Costa Rica from February 22, 2025 to March 2, 2025 and doing a homestay with local families, attending Spanish classes in the mornings, and experiencing Costa Rican culture at its core through activities such as dance and cooking classes, zipline tours, and walks through the rainforest.

We have a final initial informational meeting available: Thursday, 2/8/24 at 5:30 via Zoom passcode 679284.

Attention Seniors! Don’t forget to fill out and submit your FAFSA/CA Dream Act!

Did you miss the FAFSA/CA Dream Act workshop the last week with Connect HS? Well, don’t worry, DVC, DVD, and DVS are hosting one at the 201 high school site and you are invited to join!

The 201 DV high schools are hosting a hands on FAFSA/Dream Act workshop on the 201 N. Douglas St. campus, where an El Camino College financial aid rep will be here to answer your financial aid/FAFSA/CA Cream Act questions, help you fill out the applications, and submit that night! This is taking place on the DV Science campus on Tuesday January 30th, 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Please RSVP HERE so we know how many computers will be needed.

Please have an FSA ID created and verified before the night. Please CLICK HERE to apply for an FSA ID

Please bring with you on the night:
  1. Social Security Number -parent(s) and student-
  2. Alien Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. Citizen)
  3. Federal Income Tax Return 2022, W2’s, and other records of money earned
  4. Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
  5. Records of untaxed income (if applicable)

Also- Univserity of San Francisco (USF) created a very helpful, free webinar on the new FAFSA, what you will need to fill it out, how to fill it out, etc. CLICK HERE to access the webinar their financial aid department created.
