Weekly Update

Hello DV Connect HS students and families,

We wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving week- we are so grateful to be on this journey with you! Thank you to FAN who made the staff feel so appreciated with contributions of treats and messages of gratitude. 

Remember, next week November 22th- 26th is the Thanksgiving Break- there is no school.

Please check out the many previous blog posts- there are a lot of upcoming webinars, college exploration, summer programs, etc. Don’t miss out on some great opportunities!

CLICK HERE for the link to the Daily Tracker, a “one stop shop” for all assignments, due dates, test dates, homework, projects, links, etc. Students and families can both use it to stay on top of all classes. And there are only 3 weeks of school left in the semester when we return from the Thanksgiving break- now is the time to finish strong!

HBCU Summit Series!

The Virtual HBCU Summit Series is back! Make sure you register for one of the dates to attend the HBCU Summit. Students will get an opportunity to speak with lots of HBCU Representatives about the many opportunities of attending an HBCU, Apply and get accepted on the spot to some of the HBCUs participating, attend the various workshops including the HBCU 101 Experience Seminar!

There is nothing like the HBCU Experience! The HBCU Summit Series is designed to expand awareness of the Black College Experience as well as education, career, and financial aid opportunities for students and their families.

The HBCU Summit Series dates:

Saturday December 4, 2021

Time: 9:00AM PST – 2:00PM PST

ALL students are welcomed to attend the HBCU Summit Series!! We highly recommend Middle School, High School and Community College students!

Weekly Update

Hello Connect HS students and families-

THANK YOU to all the Veterans in our community who are currently serving and who have served in our armed forces. We are grateful for your service and the sacrifice you and your loved ones have made for our country and for protecting the freedoms we enjoy. We honor you each day, we remember you and appreciate you!

This week is a normal cohort week: Mon/Thurs and Tues/Fri, 9:15am-3:15pm each day. Don’t forget that next week is also Spirit Week! See below image for more info.

OTIS College Virtual Panel!

The Otis Fall 2021 Virtual Panel on Creative Futures in Art and Design is sure to be engaging and inspiring to all youth, parents, and educators interested in learning about opportunities in the creative workforce.

Baseball Tryouts For ’21-’22 Season

If you are interested in playing baseball, tryouts will be held next week at Raytheon park. Dates and time are below. Please wear the proper attire and bring proper equipment to play baseball.  If you have any questions please contact coach Barba, ebarba@davincischools.org

Monday Nov. 15th, 4pm-6pm

Tuesday Nov. 16th, 4pm-6pm

Wednesday Nov. 17th, 4pm-6pm

Friday Nov. 19th, 4pm-6pm

Please note these rules for Raytheon park:

Please direct your guest to enter the site through our Continental gate located at the corner of El Segundo and Continental Boulevards. All guess over 18 years of age will need to show a valid government issued I.D. to enter the facility. Please follow all road directional signage when entering.

  • Park guest(s) – Must adhere to all state and local public health guidance and regulations
  • Park guest must clean up after themselves
  • Park guest must bring their own equipment and remove the equipment when they leave
  • No animals or pets permitted (except for service animals)
  • No alcoholic beverages allowed without prior written approval
  • No vehicles are allowed on the park grounds
  • Raytheon assumes no liability for lost or stolen items – use the park at your own risk

Girls Volleyball 2nd Round Div V State Playoff – Nov. 11th 6pm

Congrats to girls volleyball for advancing to the the 2nd round of the CIF State playoffs.

They will host Pacifica Christian this Thursday Nov. 11th at 6pm. All tickets must be purchased through Go Fan. Please click here for tickets.

Can’t make it to the game? You can watch it via live stream on the NFHS network. Click here for the link. There is a charge for this service. Once on the NFHS WDV page you can click subscribe at the top or scroll down to the game click it and it will take you to a subscription page. You can sign up for a month or year subscription.

COVID Protocol requires that while in the gym a mask is worn at all times.
