Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) is hosting the Annual LAX Aviation Career Day next Wednesday, November 9. This event will bring awareness of careers in the aviation industry as well as specialized curriculums at local colleges. Students can explore aviation career opportunities, speak with, and discuss career paths with more than 30 companies, federal agencies and other airport employers.

Students can pick up a field trip slip from their Office Manager at the school site’s front desk. Spots are limited so we encourage students to turn in their slips no later than Monday, November 7.

Students will be leaving to LAX at 8:30 am and returning at 1 pm.

You are invited to attend the last NACAC Virtual College Fair of the season this Sunday, November 6 from 1-6 p.m. (ET)! 10am-3pm for West Coast!

Connect HS students will be taking the MAP test in Math and English next week.  The MAP test is an adaptive test that is used to collect student data to measure student growth and make informed decisions on instruction.   In order to do this we have revised our class schedule for next week (moving advisory to the first class of the day).

S.A.G.E would like to officially announce our community altar for Dia De los Muertos. For those who aren’t familiar with the cultural celebration, it is a time to honor loved ones who passed away, honoring them from November 1st to the 2nd. This celebration combines the ancient Aztec custom of celebrating ancestors with All Souls’ Day. We do this by placing a photo of our loved one along with any tangible item they held closest to them. You can drop off your photo and item at the front desk by NOVEMBER 1st (please put your name and cohort on a sticky note with the items). Please bring a frame for your photo if you decide to participate. The altar is located on the DVX site. We hope everyone is able to participate and hold space for remembrance during this time.
