Attention Juniors! Apply now to the Bezos Scholars Program!

Program Details

The program is a yearlong, no-cost leadership development opportunity, so that young people with passion can start making a difference today.

Each year, 17 high school juniors and an educator from each of their schools are selected from across the United States and Africa.

To apply, students must:

  • Attend a public high school that serves communities facing economic barriers.
  • Be a current junior enrolled in or having completed at least one advanced course (Honors, AP, IB, etc.).
  • Commit to the full yearlong program, which starts in May of their Junior year.
  • Nominate a school staff member as their educator nominee, who submits a recommendation and would participate fully in the program alongside them.

Review full eligibility for schools and students, and check out our Meet the Scholars page to learn who was selected for last year’s cohort!

Program Benefits and Commitments

All-expenses-paid experience of a lifetime. The program kicks off with a trip to Aspen, CO, for students and educators that includes access to the Aspen Ideas Festival.
Learn from inspiring global leaders and build lasting friendships. Join a community of talented students and educators from across the U.S. and Africa, and upon completion of the program, join an extensive Alum Network.
Dedicate 10-20 hours per month. Scholars participate in virtual workshops, receive ongoing mentorship, leadership development, free college advising and $1,000 in funding to launch a Community Change Project to make a difference in their hometowns.

Start the online application soon. The deadline to apply is January 15, 2026.
