Dual Enrollment Information Session (Da Vinci Schools)

This 1-hour workshop is for prospective high school students and parents to receive an overview of Dual Enrollment in traditional El Camino College classes as well as in classes offered in partnership with your high school.

For students and families who are interested in taking El Camino College classes in the Winter or Spring 2024 terms, El Camino’s Dual Enrollment Department will be hosting 2 workshops on Zoom – please see dates below:

The El Camino College schedule of classes for Winter 2024 and Spring 2024 has officially been released! You can view the online schedule of classes by visiting www.elcamino.edu/schedule.

Winter session runs from January 4th through February 6th.

Spring session runs from February 12th through June 7th.

PJ Test Prep has FREE PRACTICE SAT/ACT tests.  Interested families can reserve a spot at www.pjtestprep.com/rsvp.

Their new Class Schedule is also up, including the special Hybrid SAT class for students who want to prep for both the December SAT (the last paper one ever!) and the new March digital SAT.

The Immigrant Student Success Program at El Camino College will be hosting an Immigrant Families Night event on Thursday, October 19th, 2023.

This night is designed to have an honest conversation-style presentation with immigrant families to address common fears, misconceptions, and unheard needs. Immigrant families will learn the responsibilities they must take on to support their students enroll in and graduate college, as well the resources that they are entitled to and how to access them. Finally, a call to action to get actively involved and encourage higher education among their families, friends, and neighbors.

Thank you for helping to get the 2023-24 school year off to a great start!

Both the state and federal government require Da Vinci to report the number of students each year who qualify for free and reduced meals. Although meals are currently being provided to all students free of charge, Da Vinci’s percentage of students who qualify for free and reduced meals greatly impacts the amount of additional funding Da Vinci can receive.

Studies show that many eligible families, in particular middle school and high school families, do not complete the meal application each year leaving hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding for Da Vinci Schools on the table. Even a small increase in eligible forms collected results in significantly more money for ALL students.

We ask that every family complete a federal Meal Application by October 27th to maximize funding for ALL Da Vinci students.

Greetings 11th grade students and families:

This is a reminder that the deadline to submit a registration request for the PSAT is tomorrow, September 28th. If you haven’t done so already and are interested in signing up for the PSAT, please submit a response using the link that was emailed to you.

Connect High School will be hosting the PSAT on Wednesday, October 25th at 8:30am.  Before you submit your response, please note that:

1. The PSAT test will take place on Wednesday, October 25th – this is an asynchronous day for Connect HS, so you will need to arrange for transportation to the Da Vinci Connect HS campus.
2. Students will need to arrive no later than 8:30am. Late arrivals will not be admitted to the test.

The National Portfolio Day Association’s mission is to provide students who are interested in the arts with free portfolio development advice for college/university admission. Students are able to meet with counselors, admissions team members, and faculty from art and design schools for a portfolio review. Here is a list of their upcoming events.
