We hope everyone is well and had a wonderful first week back! The space was buzzing with new classes this semester- we are looking forward to a great semester with you all!

Don’t forget to check the DAILY TRACKER– a one stop shop for all asynchronous and synchrounous work/assignments, due dates, projects, office hours times and links, etc. Its the best way to keep up to date and on track in your classes- for students and parents/guardians. And don’t hesitiate to reach out to your teacher should you have any questions.

New this semester: if you miss a/an asynchronous assignment/s and fail to turn it in upon the due date- expect to recieve an email for a mandatory zoom session with Kene Washington- one of the Connect counselors who will be hosting weekly (mandatory) zoom sessions to asssit any student to get back on track with the class/es and assignmet/s. This coming Monday 1/17 is a school holiday in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. No school on this day.

We appreciate everyone’s efforts to keep school safe by complying with mask regulations and distance precautions, and for staying home if you are experiencing any COVID symptoms or not feeling well. Students can also take a free COVID test here at school during school hours.

Dear Connect High School Students and Families,

As we come to the close of a very successful Fall Semester, we wanted to provide you with an update on construction and the move to our new campus, located at 550 Continental Blvd. in El Segundo.  Yesterday, we received promising news from the contractors regarding the completion of construction, and we observed great progress on our walk of the site. The primary delay has been caused by the safety standards related to fire code compliance required of all schools. Construction is on schedule to be completed over winter break, including the final hurdle of a fire inspection, which should be completed by December 31st. Once we are cleared for occupancy, we are planning an Open House for Saturday, January 8, 2022, with a first day of school for each cohort scheduled for January 10th/11th.  We will update you again on January 3rd with confirmation of these scheduled events.

Thank you for your patience and tremendous support during this first semester. You are truly appreciated.

If you are interested in playing boys volleyball, there is a meeting this Thursday, December 16 at 3:30 p.m. It will be held in the Skybox in the Gym located at 201 N. Douglas from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Boys Volleyball Tryouts will take place January 11, 12 and 13 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. inside the gym at Del Aire Park. If you have any questions, please contact Coach John Wessels jwessels@davincischools.org

The below are some of important pieces of information as we head into the final weeks of the semester:

1. Please join Marc for an informational zoom meeting about the Spring Semester.  Topics will include Spring Semester Classes, Open House, Facilities Update, Make-up Classes and Summer School. 2. Please remember that Exhibition is this  Thursday, December 9, 6pm-8pm in the gym and in the skybox at 201 N. Douglas St. All visitors 2 years of age and older must show proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test within 72 hrs in order to attend Exhibition.
3. Learning Log #3 is due next Thursday December 16, no later than 11:59pm. We know this is a extremely short time frame and a quick turnaround from LL#2. We thank you for your understanding and your hard work on these extremely important documents!
